Progesterone supplements . I am now 9 weeks and feel horrible. Is this extra hormone ? I was started on Progesterone daily. He is now a healthy 3 year old. I am pregnant again and at 6 weeks had cramping and spotting. Progesterone level was 4. International programme on chemical safety world health organization toxicological evaluation of certain veterinary drug residues in food who food additives.
Am on 2oomg twice daily. It is causing severe dizziness that last about an hour but is so worth it if it prevents miscarriage. Had normal Hcg levels and and u/s that showed a heartbeat. Hope this is helpful to someone. Some woman just don't produce enought progesterone I guess! Thank you! 1. 9. out of 1. I don't usually write on these things, but I was so scared when my doctor told me my progesterone level was only a 1. But I am a testimony that these work. I took the progesterone and I am now 3. Wednesday!! Thank you all for your stories that helped to get me through everything. Thank you! 1. 6. out of 1. Progesterone & Weight Gain. Murray is considered one of the world's leading authorities on natural medicine. He has published more than 30 books including The Encyclopedia of Natural. I just had a miscarriage while on progesterone supplements 2. It will help you only if you are having problems due to low levels. Good luck. Thank you! I had 2 miscarriages prior to my current pregnancy so my DR put me on 2. I am just shy of 6 weeks, but tonight I just started bleeding slightly with cramps, so I am terrified, BUT, I had the same questions, however with this going on, I am pretty sure that if it is not viable, the progesterone will only help keep a viable pregnancy. Thank you! 1. 0. out of 1. I started Prometrium 2 weeks ago due to spotting and a really low progesterone blood level but the hcg for the baby has been increasing great. So far, besides being really tired after I take it with a bit of dizziness, all is well and the baby's hcg and heart rate look great. My MD said the pills work just as well as the suppositories and with being in the pool often at work, I am sticking with the pills. I have read often from other sites of people saying the pills don't work, but if increased progesterone is in your blood, your placenta gets nutrients from the blood, so it does affect the uterus/placenta regions. I am going on the end of 6 weeks and trusting God to do what He determines is best for my family. I hope the best for you! Also, from speaking with friends and family, progesterone supplements seem pretty common. Thank you! 5. out of 5 found this helpful. No one told me about the sleepiness, but I just started the vaginal suppository last night and wow do I feel even more tired! I feel better though, like emotionally, a weight has been lifted. I guess I figure now I had the supps that I am doing everything I can. Last check my prog level was 1. I think the low prog levels had something to do with my horrible cramping I would get. Crossing my fingers that this suppository will stop that! Thank you! 3. out of 3 found this helpful. Just took my first dose of progesterone 2. I am between 5- 6 weeks and have been spotting brown discharge for a week. My HCG levels are good, but apparently my progesterone was low. This is my first pregnancy, and I am so glad that my doc put me on this medication to keep my baby. Praying for all the women as well as myself that has to go thru this that we all have healthy happy babies : ) Thank you! My first pregnancy ended in miscarriage, so with my second I had my progesterone checked right away. I ended up doing injections (which has the highest rate of absorption) until I started reacting with a rash. Then I took the oral prometrium and vaginal suppositories. The pills increase your levels only for 6 hours, and are not as well absorbed and can cause bloating, cramping, and diarrhea. The vaginal suppositories give more of a local hormone that crosses the cervix into the vagina, but do not necessarily increase the level of progesterone in your blood. We are now on pregnancy #3 with a starting progesterone of 6. So we're starting with injections again! And as far as preventing miscarriage, progesterone can only prevent miscarriages that are due to low progesterone levels. Thank you! 2. out of 2 found this helpful. I had my first son with the help of progesterone suppositories, I got pregnant again last July and went on ther 2. That didn't work for me and I lost the pregnancy at 1. I am pregnant again and my doctor put me back on the progesterone suppositories. My doctor also said that progesterone will make you sleepy, but other than that I feel ok. When I was on the other stuff, I didn't feel very well, but I don't know if it was due to the promentrium or not. Thank you! 2. out of 2 found this helpful. I just read an earlier post which was a link to an article where a doctor was saying that they don't believe progesterone makes a difference in recurrent pregnancy loss. However, I believe that research DOES show that progesterone reduces the chance of miscarriage, by up to 5. You can read about the research, a systematic review of the evidence base, here.
